When you think of New Zealand, about 9000 kilometers from Japan, many people probably imagine beautiful nature, sports activities, delicious seafood and wine, and so on. Welcoming guests in Auckland is Naoko Mama, who has lived there for 25 years and is always full of energy. Born and raised in Yamagata, after graduating from high school, she traveled abroad, worked as a companion, an English teacher, and lived in Sri Lanka. In her late twenties, she visited New Zealand and found a connection there, experiencing marriage and divorce, and is now enjoying being a single mother in this welfare state.
She has also worked as a Japanese travel operator, hostess, and employed mama, and is currently the office manager for a local food manufacturer in Auckland, striving daily in a workplace that doesn't require Japanese!
